Exploring Food Security in Our Community.
When:December 12th, starting at 5:00 p.m.
Where:St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 420 West Avenue in La Crosse
Why:To create awareness of the food needs right here in our own local communities
You will be assigned one of three different dinner possibilities as a participant. Dinners range from the very simple to the very extravagant. Each dinner will represent a different level of food security in La Crosse County.
In addition to the meal, your $5 ticket includes two informative and inspiring speakers with expertise regarding the subject of food security, and a door prize entry. There will be a drawing for prizes at the end of the evening.
Receive up to 5 extra door prize entries with each jar of peanut butter (or $3 minimum) donation made to the Hunger Task Force of La Crosse.

Do you have some time to give and enjoy driving? We're currently looking for volunteer drivers for Monday, Thursday, or Friday 8:00 am to 10:00 am. Other volunteer times also available. Volunteer drivers would be responsible for picking up local food donations with our mini-van. Volunteer drivers must have current drivers license and be able to lift 30 pounds regularly. Do you have a green thumb? Or looking to learn? Come volunteer at the Kane Street Community Garden! Garden volunteers help plant, weed, water, tend, and harvest all while enjoying the great outdoors! Volunteer hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Volunteer for an hour or more. Join us occasionally or become a regular! The Empty Shoes: Poems on the Hungry and the Homeless Patrick T. Randolph. Poets donated their poems and photographs to the project. All profits from sales of the book are to be given to charitable organizations that feed the hungry and homeless.
